Why do I need to learn science?

​

​The information and skills obtained from Mr. Ray's science class will applicable to the students future.  All science concepts learned in Mr. Ray's class will be applied to real-world situations (through technology, the water we drink, and our impact we have on the planet).  Science is such a key element of many occupations and impacts our lives every second (whether we know it or not!).  Developing the process skills that include critical thinking and problem-solving will be important factors that will lead to a successful 21st Century lifestyle.​

How can I best learn in Mr. Ray's class?

​

Since Mr. Ray's class consists of many activities, projects, and experiments, much emphasis will be put onto these assignments.  Students that complete quality projects and are motivated to develop the process skills associated with being a real-life scientist or engineer will learn the most.  Mr. Ray always expects students to go above and beyond! 

How does Mr. Ray grade class projects?

All projects assigned in Mr. Ray's class will be related to one of the eight science units.  A detailed rubric that explains all requirements and expecatation will be given to each student.  Students will be required to fulfill these challenging requirements.

How can I recieve a good grade in Mr. Ray's class?

​

During the first week of school, students will be completing a grade expecation survey and personal survey.  On these evaulation, students will set goals including the expected grade.  Students then will be expected to show the dedication are work ethic to obtain each goal.  Students will be held at high expectations and will earn the grade they achieve.
